Conjuring is an AI product team at the altitude of the foundation labs. Three disciplines — design, software, agents — under one roof. Senior all the way down. We take on a handful of partners each quarter.
We started Conjuring because AI products kept dying between teams. Design shops could imagine the agent but couldn't deploy it. Engineering shops shipped fast but ugly. AI teams could prompt but couldn't produce. We do all three — vertically integrated, end-to-end, for the founders building the next era of software.
We run small and senior by design. Most engagements are three to five people: a designer who can read a prompt, an engineer who can pair with an AI engineer, and an AI engineer who treats evals like tests. No junior tier underneath.
We work in tight cycles with you in the room — not behind a wall of project managers. First prompt to shipped v1 in production is typically under two weeks. The engagement either becomes an ongoing partnership or it doesn't. Either is fine.
Eight principles, repeated honestly.
- 01
Taste over hype
We build with the foundation labs and resist them when they'd make the work worse. The model is upstream of the work, not the work itself.
- 02
Ship on Tuesdays
Tight cycles. Real surfaces. We don't believe in big-bang launches — every Tuesday is a chance to put something in front of a real user.
- 03
Senior all the way down
Every role on every project is filled by someone with at least eight years of operator experience. There is no junior tier underneath us.
- 04
Design in the browser
Static comps are dead. We sketch, then prototype in code, then ship. Decisions happen on real surfaces.
- 05
No handoffs
The designer who drew it sits next to the engineer who built it sits next to the AI engineer who evaluated it. One room.
- 06
Honest scoping
We charge for the Discover week because it's real work. Heroic estimates die in week three. Honest ones survive the engagement.
- 07
AI where it earns its keep
We don't add agents to make a deck look smart. We add them when they earn their place on the surface — and we measure them with evals.
- 08
Craft compounds
Every detail is a vote. A thousand barely-audible voices, all in tune. The compound is what people remember.
Distributed across North America
Core hours overlap from 10am ET to 4pm PT. Async the rest of the day — writing things down so we don't have to repeat them.
Mon – Thu, ship windows on Tue + Fri
We treat shipping as a ritual. Two scheduled windows each week — anything uncertain waits for the next one.
We're a small senior team, by design. Eight years of average operator experience. No junior tier. Every role on every project is filled by someone who could have been the founder.
We don't publish team bios publicly. For specifics on who'd be on your project, write us at hello@conjuring.studio and we'll send a tailored intro.
Four short essays.
— On craft
Software is hand-made, even when it's mass-produced. The hands belong to specific people who chose specific tradeoffs. We try to make those tradeoffs honest.
— On AI
We build on top of the foundation labs — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google DeepMind. We're not religious about which one. The decisions that matter live downstream of the model: orchestration, evals, failure modes, surface.
— On taste
Taste is trained, not innate. You develop it by being around great work, deciding why something feels right, and practicing the answer.
— On scope
We say no to most things. The work is good because we say no — capacity is the constraint, not ambition.
Make something with us.
We take on a handful of partners each quarter. Capacity is the real constraint.
